Digital Media and Learning Competition

TIMELINE


Please Note: Public comments are intended to aid applicants and foster greater collaboration. All applications will be evaluated by a panel of interdisciplinary expert judges who will determine which applicants are invited to participate in the second round of the Competition, and who will select the eventual winners. The public will be given an opportunity to vote for the People's Choice award on May 27.

 
  Round One: Description of Application
 
  January 15 Application system opens
 
  January 22
  11:59pm EST
Preliminary applications due.

     
  January 25 Public commenting opens

**During this period, applicants are encouraged to seek partnerships with other applicants that may make either or both proposed projects stronger. Public commenting opens.
 
  February 3 Resubmission period opens.

**All those who have already applied MUST resubmit their applications. Additionally, the system will accept new applications. (Please see top of page for details).
 
  February 15
  Noon (12pm), EST
Final applications due.
Resubmitted applications and new applications submitted between Feb 3 and Feb 15 made available for public comment.
 
  February 22 Public comment closes.
 
  February 23 A group of expert judges will review all applications.
 
 
    Round Two: Full Application
 
  Midweek March 22 Top scorers notified and invited to upload 3-minute video or machinima-style demo. Public comment opens.
 
  April 19 Videos or machinima-style demo, budget, and budget narrative due for top scoring finalists.
 
 
    Round Three: People's Choice
 
  May 27 Public voting for People's Choice Award.
 
  May Winners event.
 
  June 4 Public voting closes.
