Applicants are advised to log in to the application system and begin the application process early. HASTAC staff are prepared to assist applicants with questions and technical problems, but will not be responsible for addressing any questions or technical difficulties on the day of the deadline for any applicant who has not registered on the application system until the last week prior to the deadline.






 

APPLY

The Digital Media and Learning Competition seeks educators, learning leaders, entrepreneurs, communicators, and other professionals or students who have a project to propose that meets the criteria of the award categories. You may apply here for either an Innovation Award or a Young Innovator Award. 

Before beginning your application please ensure your eligibility.

Using the Application System

  • Log in at left (first as a new user).
  • You may save your work and revisit your application as many times as you wish until the application deadline.
  • When you have completed your application, be sure to "sign" it and click the "Finish" button.
  • Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

What You Will Need*

  • Proposal describing the project (600 word maximum)
  • Brief project description (200 word maximum)
  • Participatory Learning description (450 word maximum)
  • Detailed budget in table form
  • Budget narrative (500 word maximum)
  • Résumé or curriculum vitae (CV) and those of any collaborators (2 pg maximum each)
  • Names and email addresses of up to 2 people who will write letters of recommendation (see below)
  • Various other brief descriptions of timeline, collaborator roles, mentoring aspects, etc.

*Feel free to register, log in, and look around. You do not have to submit an application if you change your mind.

Letters of Recommendation

  • Up to 2 are permitted
  • Due November 1, 2008
  • Letter(s) should ideally be from experts in fields related to your project who are familiar with your project and can attest to its significance.
  • If appropriate, one letter should be from a supervisor who can attest that you will be allowed time and, if applicable, resources to work on the project.
  • Young Innovator applicants may use one letter as official endorsement from sponsoring internship organization.
